Thanks to everyone who was able to respond to my Galveston request. Here's a summary of what I received.

fresh seafood.

2. Gaido's Restaurant - very pricey, but the best restaurant on Galveston Island, white table cloths, tuxedoed waiters, yet you can go in in shorts and beach wear as long as you have shoes and a shirt on. No gluten free menu per se, but they are very accommodating to food allergy people. They have many celiacs who eat there daily so they tell me. This is a place where I feel very safe to eat, but again, expensive. Best seafood in town, very fresh! My favorite, lump crab meat seasoned with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic and then baked in its own crock. Their olive oil has soy in it though so if he has sensitivity to soy you'll have to be even more specific. Casey's restaurant, which is right next door to Gaido's, is owned by Gaido's too, and a cheaper menu and I am told it is the same kitchen used. I don't know, always opt for Gaido's as it's a special meal for me when I do go out, but ask them about same kitchen, etc.

Moody Gardens Restaurant - in the hotel section itself, not the Rain Forest restaurant, nice buffet breakfast for you gluten eaters, but there's a waiter there who has celiac, ask for him (tall, thin, dark hair and glasses can't remember his name but he can get the kitchen to make fresh eggs for your son and fresh fruit; don't do the eggs off the buffet, they are not fresh, made from a mix and I think has gluten in it.

Willie G's - off Harborside Drive (used to be called industrial blvd) near The Strand, no gluten free menu but can accommodate you, have eaten there many times

3. just got back from Galveston and there are several good places on the sea
wall. We went to Landry's Seafood and it was really good, I ordered steamed
shrimp and a baked potato and steamed vegetables. There is also Saltgrasss
Steakhouse. There are plenty of fresh seafood restruarnts. There is also a
Super Walmart down the street and a Kroger grocery store that has gluten
free products to buy. If you get a chance try take the trolley downtown,
there are rebuilding it and there are some really cool shops, also if you
can go to Fisherman's wharf, it was my favorite seafood

 4. really don't know all the gluten free options at Galveston, but there is a website for Galevston that lists the
restaurants : http://www.galveston.com/cuisine/

I don't know what all would be safe to eat at a restaurant called "The Spot"
http://www.thespotgalveston.com/restaurant_menu.html but it is on the
seawall and very good!!!

5.

 Mc callisters deli
       6600 Seawall blvd
       galveston,tx 77550
       409-740-3200

I found this on their website.. but I just called the location and they know nothing about GF.. so make sure precauations are taken if you go to Mc Alisters ...
