As an extreme reactor to gluten - anaphylaxis and convulsions have
replaced my typical response over the years - I find myself in
difficulty. Our local ophthalmologist will not work on me as he has
had difficulty getting information regarding the drops they use to
dilate one's eyes. He does note I have developed a cataract at an
earlier than expected age and have had a sudden profound loss of
vision - which he cannot diagnose due to the drop dilemma. He has
referred me to the University of Chicago. A number of years ago I
saw a doc there, Michael Sitrin, who specialized in celiac, but has
since moved on. Does anyone know if there is someone at U of C who
specializes in celiac? Any particular names I mention when I call?
My local doc seems to think that cataract surgery is in the offing
and that the person doing it will need input from a celiac specialist.

This is so frustrating as I have not been able to find a dentist to
work on me due to my reactions - and now to have vision problems
which are scaring doc's away from me.

Please no emails telling me my reactions are not celiac reactions or
that I must have something else. I respond atypically to gluten and
I know it.

If someone has had good experiences with cataract surgery, I'd
appreciate hearing about that, too.

Thanks,
