I contacted Lipton, as you all found out about yesterday and they said
their bags are gluten free. But they did not specify the GLUE so we are
going to follow up to be sure they clearly understood the conflict.

The second thing I wanted to clarify is that some tea bag glue is, for
sure, not gluten free. I'm not sure what the specific ingredient is in
the glue, but I know it isn't okay in Republic of Tea bagged tea. They
even specify it wouldn't be good for a person sensitive to the grains we
are. If you think about it, gluten is sticky so it would make a good
glue. But if anyone wants to look into it, go ahead and search the
archives or call Republic of Tea. By the way, their LOOSE TEA is gluten
free, you just need your infuser for that one.

Good luck to all, please do not write me with complaints about my
message. I get tired of posting to this list because I always get about
10 messages with someone giving me trouble about my posting. Thanks
for the consideration!

Joanna
