Hello to all!
Hope it is not too late for sending info on suggested cookie decorations
for GF cookies.

Connie wrote:
On any cookie that is frosted, you can use chopped nuts, toasted
coconut, shaved chocolate and store-bought decorative sprinkles from
McCormick. These are a "shaped" sprinkle-on decoration (not a sugar) and
it comes in pastel colors. (no red or green sprinkles)

Cake Mate decors (not chocolate or long rainbows). They have decorator
icings, gels and maraschino cherries. They provide a GF list. Call
McCormick/Club House at 1-800-265-2600

Decorator frosting for sugar cookies: 2 cups powdered sugar to 2-3 tbsp
water. Mix adding 2 tbsp water, the third one as needed. Should easily
go into decorators tube or hold shape. Note: for those in Alberta,
Canada, Redpath Icing sugar at IGA is GF.

I finally got in the mail a GF list of products from the Houston Support
Group. Their list (last dated with products from July 96) is such:
Dec-A-Cake, candy cards (all), Sugar Crystals (all), Trims (chocolate,
rainbow and red, green and white), Writing Gels (all), Merry Toppins
(not found in my area, maybe yours) were Chocolate & Coconut Shreds,
Cinnamon Imperials, Flowers, Pastel Imperials, Rainbow Mix and Sugars
(blue, green, pink, red and yellow).

Ghirardelli baking bars. (Melt chocolate and drizzle on cookies for
decorations) Nestles Chips (all except Butterscotch and Buncha Crunch),
Nestles baking bars and cocoa (all), Durkee coconut, Smuckers (all jams,
jellies, preserves, low sugar spreads), frosting for sugar cookies use:
Duncan Hines Homestyle Frosting and Pillsbury Frosting (be careful, I
have found some with wheat starch in them, so watch the ingredients).
Also, Dec-A-Cake Icing (blue green, orange, pink, red, white, yellow and
chocolate.

Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and happy cookie making (if it is
not too late). Our support group had their cookie exchange and it went
very well. Those who brought cookies got first choice at chosing the
same amount they brought to the meeting. If someone was not a baker,
they had the opportunity to share with any who wanted to part with
theirs or if someone brought extras they could take these home.
