It has been a while since I've posted an address for The National
Exposure Initiative, so I apologize to those previously involved.

A little background for new members . Last summer, I began an E- mail
and letter writing campaign targeting national media outlets. I hoped
this might raise awareness of CD . . Several list members joined me in
this effort. Some of the outlets we listed for contact where: ABC's Dr
Timothy Johnson, NBC's Dateline, National Public Radio and Oprah.

Many will point out that you haven't seen any these programs featuring
stories about CD . This is true, and with international crisis and
national scandals, Celiac Disease is unlikely to get a lot of media
attention in the near future. However, I think it is worthwhile to keep
contacting these outlets.

Our letters may not interest editors at this moment, but could be the
germ of a story when other developments occur. For example, the study
being done by the University of Maryland will hopefully reveal how
common CD is the US. Our letters could at least lend familiarity to the
disease.

Even without major developments, this initiative will draw attention as
more list members become involved .

The letters needn't be long and the same copy can be "mailed "to
different media outlets.

This Month's target is

CNN

I will attempt to get a post office address for those interested.

Any help in getting target e- or snail mail addresses is appreciated.
In addition to broadcast media , the initiative will target major
publications. ( Time .etc.)
