I developed this recipe for our church coffee hour.  It is by and away
the most popular of all the dips

Spinach Dip

1 lb carton sour cream
1 cup [pr more] mayo
1 box frozen chopped spinach, thawed, squeezed dry
2 garlic cloves, very finely minced
1 medium onion, finely minced
1/4 teas freshly grated nutmeg
salt and pepper to taste

combine all ingredients. may thin with water..serve with veggies or
chips.  For better taste, let stand a few hours or overnight to let
flavor develop   Leftovers [if any] make a great salad dressing

NOTE: this is one reciepe where powdered onions and garlic  will work
