That would be citrate and gluconate.  And the bioavailability of calcium
from dairy products is fantastic if you're a baby cow and have four
stomachs to digest it.

Calcium carbonate has the bioavailability of tree bark.  So skip the
tums.

Also, calcium needs an acid to be absorbed....and magnesium.  Many in
the field of nutrition believe that the 2:1 ratio is magnesium to
calcium, not calcium to magnesium.

Vitamin D is also a big factor in regards to calcium aborption and bone
mass.  A recent study indicated that  up to 80% of the population could
be vitamin D deficient.

The best source of vit D is Cod Liver Oil.  The only way to know if  you
need vit D or are getting enough is via blood test.
