A couple of days ago, I posted a question about how resistant sprue is
treated. I've been on a strict GF diet for 9 months and my stools are
still not normalized. They continue to be large, pale, fatty stools. I
received lots of e-mails with varied advice. Thanks to all. Several
persons suggested that I recheck by diet for hidden glutens and avoid
eating out at restaurants. Vitamin therapy was also recommended more
than once. Several persons found success on a completely grain free
diet...One person recommend a book by Gottschall, "Break the Vicious
Cycle" and another the Atkins diet. Live enzymes and pancreatic enzymes
were mentioned more than once as helpful. One e-mail said that taking
small amounts of immodium with meals as well as Metamucil might be
helpful. Microscopic colitis came up as a possible hidden reason why my
villi are not completely healing. Two persons mentioned Pepto-bismal
therapy as a treatment for microscopic colitis. One person said they got
relief when they changed their drinking water.

Thanks again. Everyone has been very helpful.

Becky
