The GI Dr. just called. Here are the results.

He has an inflamatory thing going on and there is evidence of some
blunting villi present. She cannot confirm full blown celiac disease at this
point. The other diagnosis being considered is called "Eosinophilic
Gastroenteritis". Havn't researched this yet.

She said there were *eosinophils* present which are white blood cells(having
to do with alleries) which is also seen sometimes in celiac disease. Another
possible diagnosis is "autoimmune gastroenteritis".

    Her plan:

          1. Gluten free diet

          2. check for allergies(all kinds including dairy)

          3. Prednisone therapy for two months

She may let him back on gluten at some point to see what happens with
him. He does not have to go dairy free at this point.

She wants his regular Dr. to see him today for his lip ulcers cause he
may have to wait to take prednisone because of that. He is coughing a lot
and does not feel well again. His moods are unbelievable. His diarrhea has
stopped though.

    Will keep you informed...
