The GFlinks.com/books page is a big disappointment. After spending 
several long man-weeks writing the 200 reviews and assembling the 
page, it gets almost no traffic, and it sold only five books (in 
three orders) in January.

But what has become hot are my various Paleolithic diet pages. Visits 
are up 50%. The month started with publicity in the Washington Post 
and the NY Times. Blog posts, pro and con, then followed.

Paleo is a simple dietary lifestyle that is based around foods being 
either in or out. In are the foods that we ate prior to agriculture 
and animal husbandry (meat, fish, shellfish, eggs, tree nuts, 
vegetables, roots, fruit, berries). Out are Neolithic foods (grains, 
dairy, beans, potatoes, sugar and fake foods).

Under the paleo concept the quantities consumed of each "in" food is 
up to each person. You can make it meat heavy if you want, or fruit 
heavy if you prefer. As long as the foods you eat are paleo.

There are two main groups of followers: The most vocal are the group 
that follows the paleo diet to get maximum athletic performance. This 
group started with the publication of this book in 2005:

Then the Crossfit.com Elite Fitness organization picked up on it and 
they have incorporated the diet into their program. It has also 
become popular among triathletes.

The others are the original followers that eat paleo to avoid the 
diseases of civilization. Some in this group are already gluten-free 
being celiacs, and a subset is already dairy-free.
