Thanks everyone who responded to my question about the flu shot and muscle
pain. I was happy to learn that many people have received the flu shot
with no problem. I was worried about getting a flare-up of fibromyalgia,
or muscle pain. One person said she suffers from fibromyalgia, but that
she didn't have any problems from the flu shot. Another person is in a
situation similar to mine. She had muscle pain and joint pain before going
gluten free, but she didn't have any problems after getting a flu shot.
Many people said that the only muscle soreness they got was some pain in
the arm from the shot. One person had a severe reaction to the flu shot,
but she didn't mention muscle pain. A couple of people have to avoid the
flu shot due to food allergies.

I didn't get a flu shot this year. The supplies are very limited now.
This year's vaccine actually doesn't include the most severe strain of flu.
I think I'll try homeopathy next year. I believe it is a better way to
build up the immune system. However, if I get sick, I'll think about
getting the flu shot the following year. I'm getting older and may have to
think about getting more protection. However, I'm still not convinced that
flu shots actually help.

Here is one interesting response:

This is just my personal opinion but I never take the flu shot and never
have. One of my Uncles, after taking it, ended up with Gullian Barre.
Coincidence, you say, well, my orthopedic Doctor's uncle...same thing
happened to him. Sure this is rare, but me, myself and I, steer as far
away
from drugs as possible. Side effects are too scary and what they do to
your
body in general, is even scarier. From an article I read, the flu shots
only break your immune system down, not help you. Not telling you what to
do, of course, but just telling you what I know? My info has also come from
Doctor's and Nurses, who don't for some odd reason, believe in the drugs
like others do.
Good luck in your decision. : - )

And here's another option:

you can ignore the flu shot controversy by taking the homeopathic
preventive THE
FLU SOLUTION by Delosis......you can get it in health food stores and take
just one
vial a month for 5 months. I've been taking it for years and both me and
family
and friends have NEVER gotten the flu....if you can't find it, I can give
you a
mail order source.
