I have been on the diet 10 yrs. and one of my sons has been gf for 3 yrs. My oldest son, who is not on the diet has just been diagnosed with hypothyroid. He is 35 and the no. the doctor gave him was 8, I understand the normal range is between 0.3 to 5.00 so he is 3 point over.

My question is - could NOT being on the diet cause his thyroid problem? Also is the no. 8 high enough to warrent medication?

Janet, Maine
