Last week, I asked whether anyone had any experience with the gene test
from Kimball Genetics. For those who aren't familiar with Kimball, you can
check out their web site at www.kimballgenetics.com. They test for the DQ2
and DQ8 genes, the test is a cheek swab, and it costs ~$290 if you pay out-
of-pocket ($260 for a second test).

I only received two responses:

One person said the lab was good, fast, and very helpful.

The second person said that a number of people from her support group are
currently awaiting results from Kimball. She said that she spoke to a rep
at the company and was impressed with her knowledge and helpfulness. She
had genetic counseling skills, advice on getting insurance to cover the
cost of the test, etc.

I also spoke with
a genetic counselor there and also thought she was
informative and helpful.

One of the people did mention another lab that I was not familiar with. It
is Immco Diagnostics www.immcodiagnostics.com. They appear to only do the
serology panel, not the gene test.
