I had read on this list once that "Raskas" cream cheese was
gluten-free. Since someone posed the question this week, I did a little
research. I talked to a representative at Raskas today and he assured
me that their cream cheese was gluten-free. I told him that I live in
California and the only place I've seen their cream cheese is at Costco
in the huge block. He said they service all our store under the a
private label. So, if you were to go to Ralphs, Vons, etc., look for
their cream cheese and he said the numbers 555 or 600 would be stamped
on the side. That will tell you that it's their cream cheese. I would
assume that goes for grocery stores all over the US. I told him that
Philadelphia Cream Cheese was not gluten-free. He couldn't understand
that. I was told by Kraft if it's not on their list it's not
gluten-free. My only assumption is that they "test" everything that
goes on their list and their cream cheese probably hasn't been tested.
Hmmmmm!

The representative I spoke with is Gordon @ 314/531-1950 Raskas.
Anyway, I hope the cream cheese info helps some of you out there.
