Hi James & Others
If you THINK there may be a problem re. harvesting wheat , etc.and chaff
going into the air and being breathed in.. contact your local area
farmers and ask to be notified prior to these practices. I don't know
your laws where you live nor recommended farming practices... however,
being a farmer myself and knowing many here.. they have families too
and are generally most receptive to help out their neighbours (and also
avoid conflicts ).
I can't find any studies that indicate gluten/related proteins in
air quality in farming practices per se.. probably never been looked
at... I have seen some re. bakers and wheat flour (different product
though.. more refined/concentrated and longer exposure, etc.)
In spite of no conclusive evidence of whether this may/may not be a problem..
if you can avoid it.. why not? See if your farmer will notify you
prior to harvesting and ummm, go shopping for gf products in a near by
town! :-)
   Have a good summer.
