Has there been any encouragement/effort re: getting one or more of our
knowledgable MDs on a program such as "Today", "Kathy & Regis Live",
Oprah, etc.???? (I'm thinking Dr. Green, Dr. Worman, etc.)...
It would seem to me (having "devoured" recent posts to the
LISTSERV@MAELSTROM that there is much truth in the statements that Celiac
Disease (and associated conditions) are NOT "aired" because:
1. There is no pill to be given - hence pharmaceutical companies are not
interested in "informing" MDs (and drug reps are always in MDs'
offices, as we know, "pushing" their wares);
2. Many MDs are too busy to read much in their professional journals;
3. Our best advocates for advances in the study/statistics on CD are
those of us who have CD - and our families/friends/supporters;
4. The greatest need (for the best affect) would be to "get the word out
there" that we exist.....
What's your "take" on this??
Tho't about sending this to CDF -- do they have the "clout" that is
necessary to have it happen???
