Thanks to all who replied to my request. Here's the summary for restaurants
and healthfood stores in Clearwater:

The Natures Food Patch on Cleveland was highly recommended. They have all
sorts of GF pasta, cookies, etc. One person buys the Millet bread from Leland
Farms and asks the prepared food people to make them a sandwich with the
bread.

For breakfast or lunch, Lenny's (not Denny's) was recommended. They have
pastrami, corned beef, etc. Again just hand them your bread and ask them to
make you a sandwich.

For a fancy meal, the Clearwater Hotel on Clearwater Beach was recommended.
White dinner jacket and float dresses. For something touristy and fun, drive
up the Gulf to Tarpon Springs. Buy sponges, eat shrimp in the shell and
imagine your are in Greece. Try an almond paste cookie and one of the Greek
bakeries. They are all paste, no flour.

Sweerwater's Restaurant on Gulf-to-Bay understands GF and the Publix on G2B
and Belcher Rd carries a good number of GF foods, especially in their Health
Food Section.

Palm Harbor Natural Foods in Palm Harbor on US 19 and Burlew.

As for eating out, a celiac chapter has a favorite...Ban Thai on McMullin
Booth Rd and Enterprise. Fabulous food and service, almost everything is GF
including the Pad Thai, spring rolls, and brown sauce.

Another favorite is Tio Pepe on HWY 60 (Gulf to Bay). It's pricey but yummy.
This person did not check out the status of their gf food but they always ask
them if there's any wheat, etc. It's a Spanish restaurant and they were quite
sure they make most things from scratch. Another favorite of this person was
The Columbian (it's on the south end of the beach ). Same as Tio Pepe,
everything from scratch and Spanish.

Hope this is helpful to anyone traveling to Clearwater. Sounds like there is
plenty of options.

Annette
