Dear List,

Back in December I wrote about our new Wild Oats store, in Madison, NJ, and
how receptive the manager was to learn more about celiac disease and GF food.
I finally arranged to go back in and speak with him, and the marketing
director at length.

I brought in my "bag of tricks" and showed them information about CD, and
possible mail order options for them. They were incredibly curious and asked
good questions. They said that they often get calls asking for which GF
products they carry, and now feel like they can make a more educated
response. They are interested in having a type of "Celiac Awareness Day,"
with speakers and food tasting. The manager asked me what type of response
this might generate. I told him I would find out. So, if you think you
would attend something like this, on a weekend in the spring, please e-mail
me back. I will print out the responses and give them to the store. The
manager also said he would like to make a donation to research.

It is very exciting that we are being taken seriously by a company like this.
Please let me know if you would attend, and if you have any ideas or
suggestions for the day.
