I have an 11 year old son who was diagnosed with Celiac 1-1/2 years
ago, a 13 year old daughter who was diagnosed 2 months ago and a 26
year old son who just called me with his biopsy results -- positive.

My 26 year old is a Captain in the Army and stationed at Ft. Riley,
KS. He already went to Iraq for a year and is due to go back this
December for his second tour. Does anybody know how the Army deals
with the Celiac issue? Would this make him non-deployable? Can he
stay in the Army but remain stateside for the remainder of his
commitment? Can they give him a medical discharge?

He is currently stationed at Ft. Riley, KS which is in Manhattan,
KS. He lives on the base in a hotel room type setting which is
problematic because he has no cooking facilities whatsoever. He
usually just eats at the dining facility on base. Can't do that
anymore.

Does anyone know of stores in the Manhattan area where he can
purchase gluten free food? Any restaurants in that area that do
gluten free food?

Any and all advice, direction, suggestions will be greatly
appreciated. Thank you...
