My original posting was to find if other celiacs had been diagnosed with a condition
known as "pseudogout".
I was recently treated by a rheumatologist who made this diagnosis after aspirating fluid
from my knee. A particular type of calcium crystal is identified in this diagnosis.
The doctor said he had seen this condition in other celiacs, however, I did not find this
association mentioned in any of the literature I read.
The responses from this list do not support an association.

Various listmembers have experienced painful, swollen joints.
3 improved on a GF/CF diet
1 suspected nut oil contamination of olive oil as the cause of her painful joints
1 believed it was related to increased calcium absorption after "going GF"
2 associated painful joints with gluten accidents

1 made a self-realization of the relationship with hyperparathoidism and pseudogout; he suggested
      calcium excretion studies.
1 very kindly sent information re/increased iron levels with this condition
*Some literature supports an association of pseudogout with other metabolic disorders such as hyperparathyroidism and hemochromatosis.

Either, pseudogout is not associated with celiac disease or, it is a diagnosis often missed
by doctors. (much like celiac itself) I originally saw 2 orthopoedists who diagnosed "trauma" as the cause of my continuing joint pain and swelling and did not suspect an inflammatory cause.

Thank you to everyone who responded to this question.
