I found this on the net and thought it would be a good alternative craft
dough for folks who can't mix up regular flour dough for kids' crafts.
Plus, it should smell great! (I haven't done it myself, just copied this
for you to read.)

What you need:

* 1.5 cups ground cinnamon
* 1 cup applesauce
* 1/4 cup white school glue (like Elmer's)

What you do:

1. Mix cinnamon, applesauce and glue together in a bowl. The dough should
be as thick as cookie dough. Add a bit of water if the dough is too stiff.

2. Remove from bowl and knead. Put it back in the bowl, cover with plastic
wrap, and let sit for at least a half hour.

3. Remove the dough, knead again to make sure it's smooth. Flatten/roll the
dough between waxed paper until it's between 1/4" and 1/8" thick. (The
thicker ones dry and keep their shape better.)

4. Cut out desired shapes, use a straw to punch a hole for the ribbon to
hang. The circle of dough will pull out with the straw.

5. Gently place the shapes on a non-stick cookie sheet. Put in low oven to
dry, turning often.

6. Let dry for several days OR put them in the oven at about 200-225 and
turn them every half hour. Just be careful that they don't burn.

7. Hang with yarn or ribbon. When dry, use the clear thin glue you can buy
in a long clear glue tube (for school kids) and then sprinkle with glitter.

They turn out really nice, you can't make a mistake pouring glitter onto a
glue shape and the kids feel very successful. And, of course, the smell is
great.
