Correct. But almost all providers will add groups to the feed when asked. So
ask. Everybody should check if it's there, even if they intend to continue
reading through the mailing list. If not there then ask that it be added.
This will help broaden the distribution of the newsgroup and will increase
the likelihood that other people will stumble onto it.
 
You can usually e-mail your provider with staff@...
