My teenage son (the one with celiac) is hanging all his hopes on
something his doctor told him during his last visit. Specifically the
doctor said that in ten years my son wouldn't have to worry about
following the celiac diet, he could just take a pill to help him digest
whatever he wants.

I hate to dash the kid's hopes, but I figured the doctor was just saying
that research is advancing quickly. My son took it literally. Does anyone
know of any research in this area?
