My partner and I will be visiting San Francisco for a few days in
mid-November. We'll be staying near the airport, but can certainly
travel to other parts of the city in search of excellent dining.
We're looking for non-chain, upscale (or not-but we've often found
upscale is easier to deal with for our various preferences),
gf-friendly restaurants that serve great vegetarian or fish (with
fins & scales only--no shellfish or crustaceans) meals. Ethnic
(especially spicy) of almost any sort is also good, as long as they
know what's in the food, and can handle the vegie/fish preference
aspects. It's a long time since I've been there (about 30 years), so
I'm assuming that any place I know if is no longer what it was then.
Any suggestions?

Thanks.
