The recent cough medicine request got me to thinking about the latest
miracle in our medicine chest...

Maybe you've seen the 20/20 piece on Cold-Eeze lozenges that are supposed
to cure the cold? The clinical trials with adults and older kids is
impressive, and so are the results we've had in our little family's "field
trial."

The active ingredient in Cold-Eeze is zinc, so we've been testing Whole
Foods Market's zinc lozenges, which are GF. (Cold-eeze, the brand, has been
sold out *forever,* so I can't even get hold of their ingredients list to
check its GF status. All I can vouch for is Whole Foods brand.)

We take them at the first scatchiness of a cold or sore throat, and within
15 minutes, we are symptomless and stay that way for a week or more. (We
also take the scratchiness as a sign that our immune system is down and
adjust our diet and our supplementation accordingly.)

I have no interest in Whole Foods Market, Cold-Eeze, etc.! I just thought
I'd pass along another GF alternative to cold sufferers!

Blessings to all ya'll,
