The following is a summary of restaurants where we could get a gluten free
lunch "Tarzan" in NYC:

Try the Brazil Grill - I think it's on eighth ave., up around 48th

Go to Marseille on 9th ave.

Ruby Foo's, the corner of West 49th and Broadway

TRY SAPHIRE ON BROADWAY, NORTH OF COLUBUS CIRCLE. IT IS INDIAN
AND EASY TO FIND GLUTEN FREE

not x actly nearby but risotteria on bleeker is exceleent, pizza paninis
breadsticks....the open top tour bus stops right in front of it...so leave
alittle early and enjoy a tour of lower manhattan

If you eat sushi, there are many options in the area, including Kodama (301
W 45th St, about 3 minutes away).

If you are open to eating at Chipotle, there's one at 129 W. 48th Street
(about 8 minutes away) and another at 620 9th Avenue (about 10 minutes
away).

Ted's Montana Grill, which claims to be able to serve gf food, is at 110 W.
51st Street (about 13 minutes away).

I sometimes eat the Blackened Chicken Salad at Delta Grill, which is at 48th
and 9th (about 10 minutes away). Check out the website at
http://thedeltagrill.com/ and phone to make sure it'll meet your needs.

RISOTTO'S IN THE VILLAGE IS GLUTEN FREE

Look for a PAX restaurant if you are looking for a great salad, in a clean
place.....

There is a Dallas BBQ on 42nd St. between 7th and 8th Ave's. I get the plain
roast chicken and baked potato and ask for NO CORN BREAD. They also have
good burgers (w/no bun). But, their BBQ sauce does have gluten.
Also, there is a very small, healthy place to snack or get a nice salad down
the block from Ben and Jerry's on 43rd St, nearer to 8th ave, between 7th
and 8th. They have a hot and cold salad bar and GF snacks and treats.
If you go to 9th Ave near 46 st, there a quite a few Thai places. If you get
a curry dish it is GF.
Have fun...

Tropica in the Met Life Building, right at the top of the Grand Central
escalators, does have a gf menu, although it is pricey.

Although it is not listed as a gluten free restaurant, my daughter recently
went on a field trip to NYC and they ate at the ESPN Zone which is on 42nd
St. and Broadway.

O'Lunney's Times Square Pub
(2 or 3 blocks from Times Square)
151 W 46th St, New York 10036
Phone: 212-840-6688
Not strictly GF, but when I ate there, the woman at the hostess station was
understanding (so was the waiter) and I got a steak or something.

Brazil Grill
787 8th Ave. 10019
(6 blocks from Times Square)
212-307-9449
and 102 MacDougal St. 10012
212-777-7637
Brazilian restaurant near the theatre district. "Friendly, fun, casual, very
good food."

The Delta Grill
(8 blocks from Times Square)
9th Ave. & 48th St.
212-956-0934
A Cajun bar-restaurant
"I generally ordered
their blackened foods - and they brought out the seasoning mix containers so
I
could inspect the list of ingredients."

Thanks to all for you suggestions.
