<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>>

Last week I forwarded a message saying that in the United States all food
starch, unless otherwise listed, was from corn, and therefore did not
contain gluten.

Then I received the following post:

>>I've been on the list about two months now and have
>>yet to post to the list but I have been told something different about
>>"food starch" than what you [Gayle Kennedy] posted initially or in the
>>correction.
>>
>>There is an imitation lobster product sold in the Giants under the name
>>Lobster Classic. I called the 800 number and was told that "food starch"
>>in the product is from TAPIOCA. (Lobster Classic sells for $1.99 for 8
>>oz., which can be three servings if one is watching weight or the
>>recommended two servings or one serving is one is REALLY hungry.)
>>
>>Thus, not all manufacturers use corn for their food starch.
>>
>>Caveat: One has to be careful about the companion Crab Classic imitation
>>crabmeat. It DOES contain wheat starch.
>>
>>I have no interest in the company other than I find the Lobster Classic a
>>convenient item and would like to see it remain in the market place.
