Hi everyone - I received a few more posts that I thought worth passing on.
Hope this helps others as well and thank you to everyone who posted to me.
The information was very helpful!

As you probably already know, Celiac disease can cause some pretty severe
pancreas issues, including chronic pancreatitis, exocrine pancreatic
insufficiency...etc. if alcohol is causing you to experience pain, nausea
and diarrhea when you consume alcohol, you may wish to check with your
doctor to see if you are having problems which may not be related to gluten
ingestion. I can't drink, even small amounts make me ill.

My GI doc says lots of GI patients have problems with wine. Sulfa and phenol
are matabolized on the same path (I read this on a medical search, I am not
medically trained)

My only idea is that your gut hasn't healed entirely and that you're still
sensitive to sugary foods and/or sulfites. I don't think I started drinking
wine until 3 or 4 years post-GFness. I will tell you that I'm really careful
with the wines I drink, preferring
organic and French or Italian b/c they're grown biodynamically.

Thanks again for all the posts!
