Dear ListServ Members

Help with two more foreign exchange students. Both are lactose intolerant
and one has additional allergies, although gluten is not one of the
allergies. See their profiles below.

Sandra from Germany

Female - 15 Years Old

Needs Lactose Free Diet

Three cultures come together in Sandra's home: her father is American, her
mother, German and her dog, Taja, Turkish, while Sandra blends in. Sandra,
probably because of her bi-lingual home, loves languages. Other favorite
subjects include Politics, Economics, German, French, History and P.E.
Friends and family are also important to Sandra as are her teammates on the
European Handball team. Not only does she play handball, but she also
co-coaches a children's team; so she can teach it. Although, she probably
won't find a handball team here, she would like to play some sport. She also
dances, ballroom, Latin American, etc. and rides horseback. Besides these
interests, Sandra can't imagine herself without a camera in her hand. Music
also means a lot to her as she both plays the piano and enjoys singing.
Sandra wants to spend a year here to learn more about her "other country"
and gain her own experiences and she is hoping her lactose intolerant diet
won't hold back a family from choosing her.

Felicitas frp, Germany

Female - 16 Years Old

Needs lactose free diet, has asthma and is allergic to cats.

Felicitas (nicknamed Feli) - a vivacious girl who wants to get her own
experience of life, is a superior student, photographer and a rescue
swimmer. Other interests include horseback riding, UNICEF activities, and
attending concerts, movies and theater. She has learned much about being an
exchange student from her Brazilian host sister. Feli says she wants to
expand her horizons by coming to the USA where there are many hopes, dreams
and faces. Speaking English fluently is important, so in the future she can
educate her own children in German and English. Feli loves animals but is
unfortunately allergic to cats. However, she can live in a home with dogs or
other pets. She will control her allergy symptoms and a mild form of asthma
with medications. Feli must avoid dairy products and hopes her new host
family will not be troubled by her choice to be a vegetarian. She is willing
to cook for herself and is familiar with living in a meat-eating family.
Felicitas' 17th birthday is coming up at the end of August, and hearing who
her new American family will be would be a wonderful present that she will
remember always!

If you would consider hosting either of these girls as an Exchange Student,
