Wow! HUGE outpouring of support.

The largest group of people (Eight) said take Viactiv. Next biggest (with
6) was Citracal itrate caplets+ D3. Then (with 4) came Caltrate 600+D. I
also heard from a lot of people about TWIN LAB TRI-BORON PLUS.
------------
If your near a Whole Foods store, they have several that say gluten free on
the bottle. I've taken a few different ones with my osteoporosis plus now
taking fosamax.
------------------
I have tried a few different calcium supplements. All, but the one I
currently take, gave me trouble. The one I use now is called Enzymatic
Therapy (www.enzy.com and/or 1-800-783-2286). It also states on the bottle
that it is wheat and gluten free.
--------------------
i don't know if you have Trader Joe's near you, but if you do, their calcium
chews (both chocolate and fruit) are gf. The fruit ones are also dairy
free.
--------------------
Try the "Your Life" brand of Calcium (500mg w/ Vitamin-D) Supplements. They
are labeled as "no gluten." Been using them for ~two years without any
reactions. I buy these at our Kroger's Supermarket here in Ann Arbor Mich.
---------------------
PIONEER MAKES AN EXCELLENT CALCIUM SUPPLEMENT AND THERE LINE IS GF
-----------------------
I have been using a calcium supplement called ezorb. Go to their web and
read about it for yourself www.ezorbonline.com I have ostioporosis and
ostiopenia and I am only 38. I haven't had another scan since I have been
taking this but I really like it.
------------------------
GNC Calcimate Plus 800 is gf.

GNC vitamines are GF. They will say so right on the botle. I also have
Ostiopenia. You need to take Calcium Citrate, not calicium carbonate.
Citrate is more easily digested and converted to bone. Carbonate can
actually further the problem. You also need to take a vitamine D supplement,
magnesium and vitamine K. These vitamines help the calcium absorb.
-------------------------
I use Solgar calcium citrate with vitamin D. Solgar states it is gf. If you
would like to know the rest of my protocol, let me know. (I have gone from
osteoporosis to osteopenia in most areas scanned.)
--------------------------
I take Solaray's Cal-Mag Citrate with vitamin D. I like it. It has 1000 mg.
of calcium, 500 mg. of magnesium, and 200 mg. of vitamin D.
-------------------------------
I use CVS brand, which says GF right on it. I tried exercise and calcium but
I needed a drug as well--still taking the suppliment and doing the exercise
though.
-------------------------------
My doctor prescribed Fosamax, calcium pills and vitamin D pills. The problem
is the calcium pills hurt my stomach.
-----------------------------------
Our celiac specialist recommends citrical as the best supplement but you can
use anything that is calcium citrate more so than calcium carbonate -
citrate is better absorbed.
-------------------------------
I take Os-Cal, one pill three times a day. I also take a Slo-Mag with it in
the morning and one in the evening. This is on the recommendation of my
endocrinologist, who is following me for my thyroid. He says you need
calcium and magnesium together.
-------------------------------------
I've taken Citrical for three years without any side effects.
-----------------------------
Nature Made brand (available in drug stores- I get mine at CVS) states right
on the label if the product is gluten free, read the label to be sure
though.

Nature Made supplements are gluten-free - say so right on the bottle. I
have used the multi-vites, E, B12 and Calcium supplements with no problems
or reactions.

NatureMade calcium supplements are GF. It says so right on the bottle.

Nature Made makes Calcium supplements and it states right on the bottle that
they contain "No artificial colors, flavors, preservatives, chemical
solvents, yeast or gluten". You can find Nature Made vitamins and
supplements at Eckerd's, Rite Aid, CVS, Walmart, KMart, and Target.
-----------------------------
Freeda makes a gf calcium supplement. I had resolution of osteopenia after
going gf and using it.

We order all of our vitamins and other supplements from Freeda Vitamins in
NYC. They have several formulations of calcium supplements. The one we use
is called Fem-Cal Citrate.

I use the Freeda calcium supplements (Fem-Cal Citrate) -
www.freedavitamins.com.

Freeda Vitamins are all gluten free.
---------------------------------------
I had a similar diagnosis 5 years ago and take 1500 mg Vitamin Shoppe brand
calcium supplements every day. I am off the danger list, my bone density
has improved by 3% on each of the last two counts, and I have stopped losing
jaw bone mass as well.
------------------------------
I get my calcium supplement fromVitamin World. They say gluten-free on the
lable. I have been taking them for about five years, but I don't know if
they are really helping
-----------------------------------------
I take calcum supplements from CVS pharmacy (their own house branded calcium
says gluten free on the label) Try to get calcium citrate as opposed to
calcium carbonate or oyster shell - the citrate is supposed to absorb
better. Also, take calcium with a meal, if you can...and split the dose, no
more than about 600 mg at a time.
-------------------------
I use Calcium/Magnesium tablets from Country Life.

I use Country Life Calcium Citrate w/ D.
-------------------------------
I take calcium supplements which I buy at Costco - their Kirkland brand
name. It says they are gluten-free on the label.
-----------------
Sam's Club Members Mark Calcium 600 mg plus Minerals with Vitamin D. It
took about a week for Sam's Club to get back to me after talking with a
representative and requesting product information. They assured me this
product is gluten free.
-----------------------------------
I buy mine at the Vitamin Shoppe. No allergens in them, read all labels,
call the company.
----------------------
Olay vitamins - essential bone health formula is GF. Says so right on the
bottle, which I really appreciate. I got mine at the local grocery.
