Hello all,

Sorry to interupt your peaceful mailboxes, but I have done a search
on the celiac listserv archives (acessible using the link at the bottom
of any listserv e-mail) regarding Jif Peanut Butter.

The posting states that all Jif peanut butter is safe, but my
intestine tells me otherwise. About 6:00 today I ate my personal
favorite snack; apples with peanut butter . . . by 7:30 I was burning
up, both stomach and face. My bowel is actting as if I got some gluten.

I don't care what the company says, the ingredients list claims that
it is made up of roasted peanuts. The company claimed the peanut butter
is gluten free according to the posting. It's definitly not. I had
assumed since the compnay was contacted if the roasted peanuts were
roasted with flour they would have said so.

To sum up: Never again will I eat Jif peanut butter. For those
interested I ate the extra chunky variety, although I have been having
trouble with celiac for the past 3 weeks, and have been eating the
smooth variety also during that time period.
