Hi Listmates,

Walmart has been gradually changing their labels to include "gluten free" if the item is indeed gluten free. I have been watching their Great Value Peanut Butter for this labeling and have not found it yet. I wanted to make some peanut butter cookies and figured I would use the store brand, cheaper peanut butter. I checked with my contact at Walmart and was told that the Great Value Crunchy and Smooth Peanut Butters are NOT gluten free.

I inquired about Walmart's policy about marking things gluten free and this is what I was told:

If the possiblity of cross contamination exists, they will not be marked gluten free.

I was glad to get this clarification on their labeling policy and thought I would share it with you. If this has been discussed before, I must have missed it.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Healthy, Happy GF New Year!!!
