In response to Kemp's questions--

I was using the Glucometer 3 (by Ames, I believe).  I don't think it's being
sold any more; I got mine in 1993.

Before the trip to New Mexico, my fasting readings were running in the
140's-150's, but in the higher altitudes they were in the 120's.  I don't
take medication or use insulin; I'm controlling with diet and exercise.
