I guess I am lucky for my mild spasticty. I will tell that (so far) I do not
have that severe problems with pain and/or spasms. I do not take opiates on a
regular basis,
but I do take a benzodiazepine for tension and blood pressure. The severe
problems I have now are fatigue and greatly reduced muscle strength. At one
time in my thirties I could press 100 lbs with ease. I had a good build. Now,
at 64, I have gained weight, been taking Lipitor for cholesterol and it saps
critical muscles enzymes, according to my internist who is with a holistic
health group. Also, I have become lazy and have "admitted" to being limited
with a handicapped parking permit and therefore, I get no excercise. My
advice to you folks in your 30's is to stay as fit for as long as yoy can.
After quadruple by-pass in '83 I walk a lot and fot up to walking 2 miles per
day. Also lifted weights. Now I am damned near useless, use whelchairs in
airports and I have done a great job of re-disabling myself through a grossly
sedentary life style.

Well enough self-flagellation and self pity!! Just trying to pass on some
advice as to what not to do, which is sometimes as important to know as what
to do!!
