I got an email from a friend with CP about to go to hospital for
cervical neurosurgery ( I have to ask him for specifics). His current
symptoms (weakness and falling) are similar to mine before the later
quadriplegia which the doctors are predicting as eventual and likely for
him.

I was having all kinds of spasm attacks and eventual muscle lock for
several years before worsening.

Still think you should insist on a complete spinal mri to establish a
benchmark. If the cord or extending nerves are being impacted pain
control will not likely prevent more nerve damage. You need a way to
know and monitor what triggers the pain.

Glad to see you up and at it.

S.
