     To all:

We wanted to let everyone that we know who is involved with
disabled sailing about the newest sailing center in the Northeast,
the New England Competitive Sailing Center (NECSC).

We are set up to train sailors with disabilities to be competitive
on the race course using the two boats selected for the Paralympics.

 Our startup fleet consists of
6 Norlin Mark III 2.4mR boats,
 2 Sonars and
 2 chase boats.

Our staff includes Betsy Alison who is our competitive coach and will be
working with our advanced members, and Clemmie Everett who will be working
with all other competitors. We have a number of people, including PTs and
OTs offering their time as volunteers at the Center which is located at the
Brewer Yacht Haven Marina in Stamford, CT.

Even though our focus is on competitive sailing and having our
members become better racers, we are looking to acquire
a 20 to 25 foot sailboat that will accommodate disabled sailors,
just for the fun of sailing. Our Grand Opening helped us to see
the opportunity to take people sailing who have never had the experience.

Review our website and read all about the Opening Day festivities
and see the picture gallery of the event.
