Trisha- Great Example! That did put things into better perspective for me.
I have truly been blessed in this life, because I've never had to work
retail. My husband did it for awhile, so did my best friend. They told some
horror stories. Right before my hubby left retail for the less stressful
world as a repair technician, an elderly dissatisfied customer tried to whack
my husband in the head with his cane! Then he tried to steal a cell phone
off the display counter because the store wouldn't take his 10 year old
broken (not even one of this stores) phone back! - Sometimes I wonder how
the world keeps on turning without more people running in the streets with
war paint and spears. From what I've seen and heard- "customers" can get
primative.
My friend recently left retail when a customer threatend to come back the
next day and beat him to death. The owner of the store refused to scheduled
two people (small mom & pop video) - it was just getting too scary and
dangerous for him to work alone. Sometimes I wonder how these seething
hostile people function in society. And to think, I'm the one whose wears
the label of disability :D - Seems to me too many people need to go back to
Kindergarten if only to learn how to "work and play well with others :D " -
Take Care- Denise
