this limited amout of information is a key phrase. ie did the governor
freeze all spending and just happen that disabilities was part of it. was
the legislative branch part of it. was there court cases?
you could be very right, on the other hand you could be very wrong.

Granted George Bush Sr. signed the ada into law; however, it does not
necessarily follow that his son George W. will help people with disablities.

Texas was one of the few states that remained in the amicus brief to keep
people with disabilities in nursing homes despite the ADA and supreme court
ruling. Jeb Bush wisely pulled Florida out of the brief recognizing the
inhumanity of it.

Secondly, the governors committee for people with disabilities was silenced
from representing any viewpoint of people with disabilities on the issue.

Thirdly, when Bush become governor of Texas, funding for the inhome family
support grant for persons with disabilities was frozen. This grant pays for
ramps, wheelchair repairs, housing modifications for persons below the
poverty level.

Although Texas is the 2nd most populated state in the nation, it ranks 48th
in the nation in the provision of social services for the people.

This limited amount of information leads me to believe that people with
disabilities will ultimately suffer if GW becomes president of the US.

If anyone has documented substantial information to the contrary, I would
interested in learning about it.

Sincerely,

KM

George Bush was the one that signed the ADA into law when he was President.
George W is the best choice in this election year by far.
