the first peace dollar was minted in 1921 in a
relativly low numbers as the morgans last mintage in
1921 in high numbers. so the 1914 is a counterfiet as
there was not one minted in that year. actually you
probably have a 1904. they skiped from 1904 to 1921. ,
the 1922's are peace dollars. as to what they are
worth again depends on grade. also to get a price
you'd need a mint mark as they were minted in philly,
new orleans, denver, carson city, and san fran unlike
those indian head cents that were mented in only
philly. the "o" for orleans and the "cc"s for carson
city averages higher prices that the others becouse
the number minted were normally smaller.
http://www.pcgs.com/prices find and click the types of
coin. it will give you the prices for the grade if
uncirculated. even some that are not uncirculated if
rare. if yours are not there send me their mintmarks.
i'll look them up. the 62 dime if circulated, worth
about 60 cents no matter what mintmark.
thanks for being interested. the new quarters have
sparked much interest in coins lately. but, did you
know the nickels are redesinged on the reverse(back)
there will be two different nickels this year and
another next year and in 2006 both the obverse (front)
and reverse will be totally new.
i have a friend that is actually on the citizens
committee that reccomends and advises the mint on
coinage designs. there are 11 members representing all
segments of the population with a interest in coins.
ie: business, especially vending, banking, etc. only
one represents the collector intrest and it is bill
fivaz. i get to do as i did saturday at the coin club,
walk up and say "i'd like to see this or that come out
of the mint." and actually get a hearing.
thanks again.
