Is there a contact at your housing authority I could get in touch with
to find out more about the process of using Section 8 funding for
purchase? If there are others you know who have done the housemate
thing, you might want to check with them to see how onerous the
process is.

In a way, I hope real estate prices drop, as long as they recover by
the time I'm ready to retire and move south. It'd be nice to have
lower property taxes, although assessed valuation doesn't always
reflect market price.
