Happy new year!  We at the Epilepsy Foundation are gearing up for an 
action-packed 2010 and look forward to working with you to build a 
national epilepsy movement.

As you know, one issue we're working on is the switching of 
medications.  A couple weeks ago, I asked you to share your personal 
story on this issue.  What a response!  More than 200 people wrote and 
told me about the problems they faced with generics, breakthrough 
seizures and the high cost of name-brand medications.  We will use 
these stories to educate Congress and the media about the seriousness 
of this problem.

If your insurance company wants to switch your medication, do something 
about it!  Tell them that all medications are different, even generics. 
  Get your doctor to write a letter and advocate for you.  Our website

information that you can use to make the case.

We have a lot in the works for 2010 and will be in touch with more 
details soon.  In the meantime, please stay in touch and share with me 
your thoughts.  I appreciate hearing from you and look forward to an
