Well that's kind of what I was thinking. I have an electric blanket and it
isn't heavy, til I put a spread on the top so the cats don't shed all over
my blanket! But it has a dial which you can choose how warm you want it
(0-10). Works great for me, and let me say that on the days that I forget
to turn it off in the morning, my cats DON'T greet me at the door when I
come home! lol
