My father (now age 70) has a couple since his 40s and they worked  
well for him.  He is having one replaced right now though and it has  
been almost a year of dental work to get this implant replaced  
because there were issues with having the gum/bone heal and then be  
built up enough to attach a new implant.  So, my only warning would  
be that probably the first time around it would go more smoothly than  
if you needed a new implant years later.
