A disablility handicapped spot is designed for drivers and passengers who
would find it a hardship to walk to and from a car. The disabled has the
opportunity to park closer to the store or public place where they are
going. For many years I never had one because I was usually the passenger.
Someone told me that I, as a passenger I could get one. It has made shopping
a lot easier because I didn't have to trudge thorough the snow and ice we
get here in Winnipeg Canada. Legally it should only be used when the
disabled person leaves the vehicle.
