You want this weather, Rayna, you can have it. Our town is getting ready
for their annual Independence Day Celebration with 500,000 people in
attendance. We're already at 37 degrees Celsius, with 70% humidity inside
the city (the buildings and pavement raise both the heat and humidity.
Since folks are arriving early to get good seats for the show (10 hrs from
now), they are already dropping like flies from the heat.

My family has decided not to go this year. This will be our first absence
since I started working "in the city" some 5 years back. We have special
passes to view the fireworks from our carpark roof (only 1/2 km from where
the shells are launched). This year, we've been privately discouraged from
attending the event by a friend who's a "mover and shaker" in local law
enforcement. His department's concern is that, with the "perceived"
terrorism threat, it would only take one fool with a flash-bang grenade to
panic a half-million people.

Instead, the family and I are going to watch the fireworks presented by our
local village. Nothing near as spectacular, yet we can see them fine from
our pool. I'll be the one floating on the inflatable porpoise, US flag in
one hand and a nice tumbler of scotch and soda in the other. Strip steaks
on the barbie....MMMMMMMM!!!

-Kyle

Subject: Re: X-rays

it always takes at least twice for me. last x-ray i had taken was
back in feb when my neck and shoulder were playing up. didn't have to
get on the table <yippee> started off standing against a wall-mounted
x-ray thingy but all the twisting and turning nearly made me black out
from the pain in my shoulder. then tried it sitting down. next time
i have an xray done when i'm in pain - going to have the foresight to
take pain killers first.

mag, how are you feeling today - did the pain from the xray table ease
up, have you got some sleep?

kyle, thanks so much for posting all that great info on cp and aging
yesterday. you've given me some ammo to fire at the specialists and
the government to make sure i get a replacement scooter.

happy independence day to all the americans on the list - and send me
some of the sunny weather you will all be having!!!
