I once got an autograph at one of the TV studios, from bob Hastings. I was
with a group of cwd and I just went up to him and told him I liked him and he
autographed a record of his.

The local drug store has some really nice helpers, all I have to do is sit in
front of something more than 15 seconds and they are over me asking if I want
anything I can't reach.

I think it's fine to accept what's offered freely.  If you abuse that then
it's pity.

No, you didn't mention a hospital/doctor. ARE YOU OK?
