It's a series of seven books entitled, "The Legend of the Jews," written up
by Louis Ginzburg and translated from the original Yiddish.  They are an
example of *midrashim* which are writings on the Hebrew Bible that explain
and expand on stories and passages in the Tanakh (Holy Scriptures), which
includes the Torah.
