15000 miles a year in _Wales_?!? That's even above average for the
states, I think! I do about that in a year in a state that's
approximately 300 x 400 miles on a side (about 100,000 square miles of
land area, and 450,000 people - 4.5 people per square mile) with very
little public transportation.

An unreasonable man (but my wife says that's redundant!)

The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one
persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all
progress depends on the unreasonable man.

One problem I encountered when applying for a provisional licence was
convincing the medical examiners of my suitability. Then convincing an
instructor to take me on!!

Most people who see me do not believe that I drive (although I do 15000
miles
a year), in fact, at one job interview, after having confirmed I could
drive
the interviewer asked:-

"I hope you don't mind me asking, but do you have a lot of accidents?".

I got the job, perhaps because I instantly answered "No...., but I do
see a
surprising number in my mirrors", at which point the interview had to
pause
for 5 minutes while he tried, unsuccessfully, to stop laughing.

Cheers

Deri
