I guess you didn't really understand my previous response on this
topic.  It's very unlikely your e-mail was hacked.  Rather, most
likely your e-mail address was spoofed.  This can happen to anyone at
any time, and anyone using a public mailing list (such as this one)
has exposed their e-mail address enough that it can easily be picked
up and used this way.  As a result, there really is no point in
changing your e-mail address.  In fact you might want to consider
continuing to use it for public mailing lists and keep a more private
address for things like online shopping so that you know the one you
use for private stuff doesn't get spoofed.
