Dear Friend of Community Services:

ADAPT is working to reform the long term care system in the United
States
and
needs your financial help to change the institutionally biased long term
care system.

You probably didn't know that there are over 2 million people with
disabilities, old
and young locked away in nursing homes and other institutions.  In your
state
thousands of people don't have a REAL Choice to live and receive
services
in their
homes and communities.  This must change!

Currently 75% of the Medicaid long term care budget
is spent on nursing homes and
other institutions,  leaving only 25% for ALL home and
community services.  There
is no REAL Choice for community services!

ADAPT say COMMUNITY FIRST!  Not institutions!

ADAPT wants people with disabilities and
their families to have a REAL Choice to
live and receive services in the community and
not be forced into a nursing home or
other institutional setting.

ADAPT activists will travel to Washington DC
on Saturday, June 17th - Thursday,June 22nd,
joining hundreds of other activists from throughout
the United States toparticipate in the
"Campaign for REAL Choice" - MiCASSA!
Our goal is to educate Congress on the need to
reform the institutionally biased long term care
system and give people a REAL Choice!

ADAPT needs your financial support to assist advocates
 of community services join the "Campaign"
